Changes from Version 2.01 to Version 2.02:

1) Fixed bug causing ships to run out of fuel in deep space. This should
   happen much less frequently now.
2) Fixed bug which cleared the owner of a planet with zero colonists. This
caused red errors on the planer who owned the planet.
3) Limited planet hopping implemented. If a planet is available to use as
an intermediate on the way to a planet too far to reach in one turn, it
   will be used.
4) Fixed a bug in the cloak routines, causing cloaking on ships not able
   to cloak.
5) Limited Privateer robbing implemented. Pretty crude, but it's a start.
6) Unlimited number of names allowed in ship name list.
7) New switch = turns off logging altogether (speeds up run).
8) Fixed bug which prevented some races from building minesweepers.

Changes from Version 2.00 to Version 2.01:

1) Bug in Empire Imperial Assault fixed. Manual assualt cause yellow or
red errors if human player changed a planet the turn it was assaulted.
Imperial Assault now handled via host.
2) Bug causing unarmed ships to appear armed fixed.
3) Alt ship/planets/etc now function as per host - the ship lists may
be in the game directory rather than the host directory.
4) Handles alt ship lists better - some ship lists would cause Dominate
to fail to identify explorers, resulting in problems building ships.
5) Fixed bug in Cyborg hyperjump routines causing hyperjump ships to
   wander off aimlessly.
6) Dominate now deletes old messages to dominate races.
7) Rudimentory ground assault added.
8) Mine sweeping and cloaking improved.
9) Bug causing incorrect hulls to cloak fixed.

Changes from Version 1.0d to Version 2.00:

1) ALL cheating eliminated. To wit:

  a) Fuel cheat eliminated. Ships must now refuel at planets.
  b) Fighter building cheat eliminated. Ships now build fighters under the
same rules as everyone else, starbases must pay for fighters.
  c) Ship visibility cheat eliminated. Ships can no longer be seen when
     located on planets.
  d) Exploration cheat eliminated. Dominate now must colonise all planets
by shipping colonists/supplies from homeworlds (or other high-population
     planets).
  e) Movemineral cheat eliminated. Freighters must now ship minerals from one
planet to the next. No mineral/supply/cash teleportation takes place.
  f) Ships are built using the starbase build queue.
  g) Alchemy ships cheat eliminated. Alchemy ships now only convert minerals
     per normal rules.

Note that this has hurt game play somewhat, but the changes following have
helped to offset this. Hopefully the play will continue to improve, as
all the changes which hurt play (ie getting rid of cheats) are done.

2) "mkt" enabled (Dominate does it manually because host
    ignores computer players friendly codes).

3) Bug fixed in planetary defenses - Dominate now builds the correct amount.

4) Lizard Hiss enabled.

5) Empire Imperial Assualt enabled.

6) Hyperdrive ships for Rebels and Cyborg enabled.

7) Improved planetary/starbase development and handleing of the economy.

8) Eliminated "x" command line option for more aggressive play. "x" now
causes Dominate to generate an alternate log file (usefull if you are
running multiple Dominate teams against each other).

9) Fixed a plethora of bugs. Dominate now runs with Phost quite well, without
   generating Phost cheat errors.

10) Catagorizes ships on the fly - alt ship lists are now useable (though
    not extensively tested).

11) Evaluates ships fighting ability (ie, a Patriot will not move to attack
a Virgo on it's own, nor will it attempt a solo assault on a starbase).

12) Empire Dark Sense enabled.

13) Ships now load supplies (if available) to get repaired.

14) Colonies use Ram Scoop ship. (as will anyone else if they capture one).

Changes from beta 1c to beta 1d:

1) New compiler - go32.exe is no longer needed, and dominate should run
on 286s as well as machines with/without floating point processors.
The floating point emulation on the new compiler works correctly,
eliminating the need for a float and nofloat version.
2) Freighters are now used MUCH more effectively. The "nocheat" switch
may now be used and you will still get a reasonably effective opponent.
Note that it still plays somewhat better if the cheat option is
left on, but as the freighters improve, nocheat will soon become
   the default.
3) New switch "v" (verbose) is now required for full screen output.
Without this switch, screen output will be minimal (full output will
still be written to the log files).
4) New switch "x" (aggressive) will now make Dominate play more aggressively,
   building larger ships more rapidly.
5) New switch "t" (team play) will make the Dominate races cooperate to some
extent - they will not attack each other, have the same friendly codes
(yes, the codes change every turn, so it SHOULD still be secure - let
me know if anyone finds out otherwise).
6) Robots don't build numerous (and expensive) Pawn's for exploring.
7) Brainfiles created more effectively - may eliminate the need for the
brain setup batch file. If whoever has needed this routine could let
me know if brainfiles are created properly on your machine, it would
help (I cannot recreate the bug locally).
8) Crystals now lay web mines rather than regular mines.
9) Ships will no longer refuel at a distance (see cheats.txt) if they are
   under tow.

Changes from beta 1b to beta 1c:

1) Fixed minefields bug, which caused host to crash.
2) Fixed Starbases building ships of too high a tech level bug.
3) Changed build priorities to (usually) start off with more explorers
and move to larger ships later.
4) Changed build routine to only fill 1/11th of open ship slots once the
   500 ship limit is reached.
5) "-" may be added to the race list to disable mineral movement cheat.
6) The low tech flag, "*" to simulate non-registered tech limits, has
been changed to "+" due to a oddness in the GO32 environment (it was
replacing /a* with all files beginning with "a", like a wildcard).
7) A batch file has been added to reset the brain files "rbrain.bat".
By typing "rbrain.bat gamedir" all brainfiles will be initialized.
This is used for situations where the brainfile creation crashes
Dominate. (quick fix, working on getting it right).
8) Added text file "cheat.txt" to make all aware of how Dominate cheats.
9) Newly constructed ships now wait a turn before moving (they no longer
move the same turn they are constructed).
10) Fixed bug in build routine which prevented construction of Merlins
   and Neutronic refineries.
11) A more varied selection of ships will be built, instead of all ships
built on one turn being the same.
12) Distribution file names have been changed from "dominate.zip" to
   "dom1-1c.zip" (version 1, beta 1C) and "dom1-1cf" (version 1, beta1C
   including floating point version).

Changes from beta 1a to beta 1b:

1) Fixed trimming ships bug. These messages should no longer occur.
2) Fixed ship engines bug, which caused host to crash. These crashes
   should no longer occur.
3) Added Rebel Ground Assault.
4) Added Fascist Pillage.
5) Added use of Cloaking Device.
