Single Player Missions for Silent Hunter III

Mission: Operation Tiger

(English version)

Operation Tiger: 11. May 1941 - British and German troops are fighting in Northern Africa. Each side strives for the control of this strategic important region.

The German Africa Corps, under command of General Rommel, has reached the Libyian-Egyptian border and is operating in the Cyrenaika. In spring 1941, Rommel's Africa Corps came under heavy attack from Allied ground troops, still holding the city of Tobruk.

The grim battles and the harsh desert climate posed an immense challenge to the long supply lines needed by both sides. Whoever could secure their own supply lines while disrupting those of the opposing forces would achieve a tremendous tactical advantage!

You take the command of U-96, a type VIIc submarine and start your patrol in the Bay of Sollum. Your task is to secure the line of supply in your area on sea. Monitor the incoming radio messages ("M" key), that you may receive, while the situation unfolds. Good luck, Herr Kaleun!

Mission: Weather Station

(English version)

Weather Station: This mission is based on a real historical operation. Both the German Kriegsmarine (navy) and the Luftwaffe (airforce) needed meteorological data during the war. They sent out several expeditions to install automated weather stations in the Arctic region and even on the east coast of Canada!

One such mission was the operation that U-377, under the command of Kapitänleutnant Otto Köhler, carried out. They installed a weather station near Ny-Alesund, Norway, that provided valuable weather data for several weeks.

This mission for SH3 was designed with this historical operation on mind but the events that will take place are fictitious, in order to provide a more challenging gameplay.

Mission: Pacific Adventure

(English version)

Pacific Adventure: 03. May 1943 - You are comanding U-847, one of the big "Monsun" submarines (type IX-D2), that is operating in the Pacific Ocean. The Japanese military attaché in Berlin has just asked the German Naval Command (Skl) for support with a special mission...

The US fleet is in the process of constructing a small naval and air supply base - codenamed Point Hope - in the eastern Pacific. The Japanese intercepted a radio message and found out that one or more aircraft carriers are anchored there.

Your orders: Penetrate the port at Point Hope and sink the carriers and anything else you can!

Mission: Fleet Parade

(English version)

Fleet Parade: This file is actually not a real "mission". Its only purpose is to provide an action packed surface battle between British and German naval forces. You are in command of a type XXI submarine, but there are *no* missions objectives so far!
